NASA Reviewing New Launch Date For TDRS-M Satellite.
NASA, Boeing and United Launch Alliance (ULA) are currently reviewing a new launch date for the recently damaged TDRS-M satellite. The launch was set for August 3 but the Tracking and Data Relay Satellite was damaged during payload closeout on Friday July 14.
Technicians for NASA and Boeing need more time to replace the spacecraft’s damaged Omni S-band antenna while at the Astrotech Space Operations building in Titusville, Florida.
A separate possible ground support equipment issue at Astrotech still is being assessed as well.
