Minotaur 4 Rocket Set To Launch From SLC-46 At Cape Canaveral For First Time.

A Minotaur 4 rocket managed by Orbital ATK, is set to launch from Space Launch Complex 46 at the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station on August 25th at 11:15 PM with the ORS-5 payload for the U.S. Air Force. The launch has a 4 hour window that will last until 3:15 am on August 26th.

The Minotaur rocket comes in different variants or models and the one launching from the Space Coast on the 25th will be the Minotaur IV Orion 38 model. Standing at 78.3 ft tall and 7ft 8in in diameter this is a relativity small rocket.

This will be an exciting launch for the Space Coast as this is the first time that Space Launch Complex 46 has been used since 1999 and the first time a Minotaur rocket has launched from Cape Canaveral. SLC-46 is located at the southern end of the Air Force Station and only 5 miles from the entrance of Port Canaveral so it should make for a great show.
