SpaceX makes historical night time Falcon 9 rocket launch and landing at Cape Canaveral, Florida.

On December 21, 2015 at 8:29 PM EST SpaceX launched the 229-foot Falcon 9 rocket carrying eleven Orbcomm Satellites into space. Roughly ten minutes after the launch at Complex 40, SpaceX landed the first stage booster at Landing Zone 1 or better known as Space Launch Complex 13. In the below 360-degree panoramic we captured both the lift off and the vertical landing of the rocket.

For the above 360-degree panoramic image I used a Canon 6D with a Sigma 8mm fisheye mounted to the camera body. My settings were F14 at ISO 100 and an exposure time of only 150 seconds. I should have used a longer exposure to capture more light for the foreground and tower I was on, however shooting rockets at night is never easy. To be able to capture the full 360 I had to snap a total of 4 long exposure images to stitch them all together.
